New Homes
A home that’s designed to be energy-efficient can save you money right from the start.
Item | Rebate |
New home that uses at least 50% less heating energy than an EnerGuide typical new house | $2,500 |
Heating energy use is measured in gigajoules per year, and calculations will be done by the AEA using the EnerGuide Rating System software from Natural Resources Canada.
Rebates on Energy Efficient Home Improvements
Under this program, the rebate you receive for upgrading your insulation will be double that of the AEA’s rebate program for energy-efficient products.
Get up to $8,000 for upgrading exterior wall insulation, and up to $5,000 for insulating attics, ceilings, exposed floors, basements, basement headers and crawlspaces.
Note: To be eligible for all other rebates under this program, exterior wall insulation is required.
