Ontario Launches New 2025 Energy Efficiency Programs

NEW ONTARIO ENERGY EFFICIENCY REBATE PROGRAM AVAILABLE JAN 28, 2025

The Ontario government is introducing new energy efficiency initiatives, including the Home Renovation Savings Program, as part of a $10.9 billion, 12-year investment, the largest of its kind in Canada. Launching on January 28, 2025, the program will offer rebates of up to 30% for home energy upgrades, such as windows, doors, insulation, heat pumps, rooftop solar panels, and battery storage systems. Later in 2025, rebates will expand to include energy-efficient appliances like refrigerators and freezers.

This program offers up to $8,900 back on insulation measures for qualified applicants.

The Affordable Energy Act ensures these programs are available to households using propane and oil heating, broadening accessibility.

Businesses will benefit from an expanded Peak Perks program, offering financial incentives for installing smart thermostats connected to air conditioning or heat pumps.

The province will also continue supporting 12 Save on Energy programs for businesses, low-income households, municipalities, agricultural operations, and Indigenous communities.
